What PDF to PPT does

Turn each PDF page into a PowerPoint slide: the page design becomes the slide background and the text is placed on top in editable text boxes.

It works as a PDF to PowerPoint converter as much as a PDF to PPT one — the download is a .pptx, so you can convert a PDF to PPTX online for free and open it in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides.

How it works

  1. 01

    Upload a PDF

Choose the PDF you want to reuse in slides.

  2. 02

    Generate slides

DocsBolt creates a `.pptx` file with one slide per page.

  3. 03

    Polish in PowerPoint

Refine the slide copy and design after download.

When you'd use it

  • A whitepaper the sales team wants to present page by page
  • Turning a PDF poster into slides for a class talk
  • A brochure whose pages need speaker notes and a few edits

Limitations

  • Each PDF page becomes one slide: the page is rendered as the slide background and the text is laid over it in editable boxes. Slides are therefore the page's size, not 16:9.
  • Text that was drawn as an image in the PDF (a scan, a screenshot) stays an image on the slide and cannot be edited.
  • Fonts are approximated from the PDF's metrics; a decorative font in the original becomes the nearest standard font in PowerPoint.

Questions

Is the PowerPoint editable?

Yes. The generated `.pptx` file is editable after download.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to PPT?

Yes, but each slide will be the page picture only. A scan has no text layer, so there is nothing to place in editable text boxes, and DocsBolt does not offer OCR. For editable slides you need a PDF with real text, or run the scan through an OCR tool first.

Is there a limit on PDF pages I can convert to PPT?

There is no page limit; the file limit is 25 MB. Each page becomes a slide, so a 100-page PDF makes a 100-slide deck — split the PDF first if you only need a section.

How does the PDF become slides?

Each PDF page is converted into one PowerPoint slide, so a 12-page document produces a 12-slide deck in the same order. That mapping makes it ideal for reworking reports, one-pagers, and exported decks back into presentable, editable form.

When should I use the AI generator instead of this converter?

Use this converter when the PDF already has the layout you want and you just need it in PowerPoint form. If what you really want is a redesigned presentation about the same content, paste the text into DocsBolt's AI PPT maker instead — it restructures the material into a fresh deck rather than mirroring the PDF pages.

Can I change the slide size to 16:9 afterwards?

Yes, in PowerPoint's Design › Slide Size. The slides are created at the PDF page's proportions (usually A4 or Letter) so nothing is cropped; switching to 16:9 will letterbox or scale the content, which you can then rearrange.

How is the background separated from the text?

Each page is rendered with its text redacted and used as the slide background — logos, colours and diagrams stay pixel-exact — while the text is placed on top in positioned, editable text boxes. Hidden or white-on-white text is filtered by draw order and backdrop colour so it does not appear as stray boxes.
