What Add Watermark does
Stamp text across an image so that copies remain traceable to you. Photographers use it on client proofs before payment, designers on concepts sent for approval, and anyone sharing an original photograph publicly who would like credit to survive the screenshot.
Formats and limits
- Accepts
- .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp
- Produces
- Watermarked image
- Files per run
- One
- Size limit
- 200 MB per file
When you'd use it
- Marking photographs with a name before sending proofs
- Putting a brand on product shots for a listing
- Labelling images shared with a client as drafts
Limitations
- The watermark is composited into the pixels; it can be cropped or cloned out by someone determined. It marks provenance, it does not protect.
- Text uses a single sans-serif font; for a specific typeface, upload the watermark as a PNG.
Questions
Can I use my logo instead of text?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP (up to 5 MB) as the watermark image and it is stamped instead of the text — a transparent PNG gives the cleanest result.
Can I control opacity and angle?
Opacity is a percentage from 5 (barely there) to 100 (solid). The angle can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, and the stamp can sit in the centre, in any corner, or be tiled across the whole picture.
Can the watermark be removed later?
Not from the output file — the mark is written into the pixels, so it cannot be peeled off. Keep your unwatermarked original safely; this tool produces a marked copy, it does not alter the source you uploaded.
Where should the watermark go?
A mark tucked into a corner is easy to crop out. If deterrence matters, place it across the middle of the subject where removing it would damage the image itself.
Does watermarking change the image quality?
Only where the text sits. The rest of the picture is re-encoded once, which is visually indistinguishable from the original at normal viewing sizes.
