What PDF to Excel does
Pull tables out of a PDF into a spreadsheet. Financial statements, invoices, price lists and published reports arrive as PDFs, and retyping them is slow and error-prone. This attempts to rebuild the rows and columns so the figures can be sorted and calculated rather than read off a page.

Questions
Is this best for complex tables?
This version exports extracted text into spreadsheet rows and works best for simple review workflows.
Can I edit the result later?
Yes. The output is a normal Excel workbook.
Is this good for complex tables?
It works best for simple text extraction into rows.
How accurate is table detection?
Clean, ruled tables with clear columns convert well. Tables without gridlines, or with merged and multi-line cells, are harder to reconstruct because PDF stores positioned text rather than a table structure. Always check the figures against the source.
Will a scanned PDF work?
No. A scan is an image, so there is no text to extract — character recognition would be needed first, which is a separate process.
Why are some numbers in the wrong column?
Column boundaries are inferred from spacing. Where columns sit close together or values are right-aligned inconsistently, the boundary can be misjudged. Financial tables with negative numbers in brackets are a common trouble spot.
