What Rotate PDF does

Turn PDF pages the right way up. Scanners fed a page sideways, or a document assembled from mixed sources, leave you tilting your head to read half the file. Rotation is stored as a page property, so the fix travels with the document to every reader that opens it.

When you'd use it

  • A scan where every page came out sideways
  • A landscape chart page in a portrait document
  • A fax-style PDF that is upside down

How it works

  1. 01

    Upload your PDF

Choose the file; pages render as thumbnails so you can see which way they face.

  2. 02

    Set the rotation

Pick the angle and optional page range.

  3. 03

    Download the fixed file

    Use the corrected PDF immediately.

Diagram: a sideways page is turned a quarter turn to read upright.90°

Worked example

in · scan.pdf — 6 pages
Pages 2 and 5 were fed into the scanner sideways
out · Rotation 90°, pages 2,5
Pages 2 and 5 turned a quarter turn clockwise.
Pages 1, 3, 4, 6 untouched.

Rotation sets the page's display orientation; the page content is not resampled, so nothing loses sharpness.

Limitations

  • Rotation is applied to the page's display attribute, not by re-rendering, so text stays selectable — but a viewer that ignores the rotate flag (some older embedded viewers) will show the original orientation.
  • Angles are 90°, 180° and 270°; straightening a slightly skewed scan needs an image editor, not this tool.

Questions

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes. Use the optional page range field.

What angles are supported?

This version supports 90, 180, and 270 degree rotation.

Does rotating damage the text?

No. The page is not re-rendered; the rotation is recorded as an instruction the reader applies on display. Text stays selectable and prints exactly as before.

Which direction should I choose?

90 degrees turns clockwise, 270 anticlockwise, and 180 flips a page that is upside down. If the first attempt goes the wrong way, run it again with the opposite value.
