What Image to PDF does

Turn images into a single PDF. Almost every scanning task ends here: photograph your documents page by page, then combine them into one PDF because that is the only thing the portal will accept. It also keeps a set of pages together in a fixed order, which a folder of loose JPEGs never reliably does.

Limitations

One image per page at the image's aspect ratio; there is no multi-image-per-page layout.
Images are embedded as-is, so the PDF is roughly the sum of the image sizes. Compress the images first if size matters.

Can I upload multiple images?

Yes, they're combined in upload order.

In what order will my images appear?

In the order you add them, so upload them in reading order. Filenames that sort predictably — page-01, page-02 — save a lot of rearranging.

Can I put several images on one PDF page?

No, each image becomes its own page. That is what most document submissions expect, since one scanned sheet should correspond to one page.

Will my scans stay readable?

The images are embedded at their existing resolution, so a sharp photo stays sharp. If a scan is hard to read beforehand it will be equally hard to read in the PDF — reshoot it in better light rather than converting a poor original.
