What Sign PDF does

Most documents that ask for a signature just need one: a rental agreement, a consent form, an offer letter, a school permission slip. Printing, signing and scanning them back is the slow way. This tool types your name in a signature-like style onto the page you choose, draws a line under it and adds the date, in the corner where the signature block usually is. The result is a clear, dated signature that reads as intentional. What it is not is a cryptographic digital signature — the kind with a certificate that a bank or a government portal verifies — so if a form says 'digitally signed with a certificate', this is not the tool for it.

Limitations

  • This is a visible signature — your name drawn on the page — not a certificate-based digital signature.

When you'd use it

  • A contract that needs your signature back today
  • Initialling every page of an agreement
  • A permission slip or consent form to return by email

Questions

Is this a legally binding digital signature?

It is a visible signature — your name drawn onto the page, like signing with a pen. It is not a cryptographic certificate signature, which some regulated workflows require. For everyday agreements and forms a visible signature is what is asked for.

Can I use an image of my handwritten signature?

Not yet — this tool types the signature in one of three styles. Image signatures are planned.

Which page is signed?

The last page by default, which is where signature lines usually are. You can choose the first page or every page instead.

Can I put the signature exactly on the dotted line?

Not to the millimetre — you choose a corner or edge and the signature sits a little way in from it. That lands on the signature block of nearly every standard form. For a precise placement, sign on a blank area and reference it in the text.

Which style looks most like a handwritten signature?

Script — an italic serif — is the closest. Clean is a modern italic; Typewriter suits forms that are otherwise in a monospace font.

Can I sign more than one PDF at once?

One file per run. Sign the first, then upload the next; the settings you chose stay in the form.
